Subject opinion to coercion: whom will you make your inquisitors? Fallible men, governed by bad passions, by private as well as public reasons. And why subject it to coercion? To produce uniformity? But is uniformity of opinion desirable? No more than of face and stature.

Day 21 of April

Social Media

Social media is not real, it is the agreed upon lie. It is not you, it is not them, it is a lie. Do not deceive yourself about you or them, disconnect from social media and see who you are, who they are, based on your actions. Actions are the loudest speaker of truth.

Flush social media, and welcome the self.

Woman vs Man

Woman: Chooses to abort a pregnancy at 5 1/2 months because it will interfere with a trip to an amusement part.
Left - This makes her an empowered woman and to choose otherwise would be to subjugate herself to a patriarchal society!
Right - Murder!
libertarian - It may be societally accepted murder and her reason may be absurd, but it is her body.

Man: Chooses to not vote for Hillary Clinton as president.
Left - Misogynist!
Right - Well, she is a criminal.
libertarian - Not supporting Hillary does not make one a misogynist, and she is clearly a corrupted woman. I want less government. Anyone?

?: Asks if sexist wage discrimination is a real thing.
Left - Of course! Women are victims in this patriarchal society, earning only pennies on the dollar.
Right - I support wage equality.
libertarian - It is bullshit with plenty of economic studies proving such. If it is pennies on the dollar, it is about 98 pennies, so...not so much. But if it did exist, so what? The free-market will destroy the disparity, for competition rewards all, especially the best. How about some free-market? It's almost as if someone is gaining from preying on the ignorance of many by pushing this false narrative, or they themselves are ignorant, or... God, this is absurd. Pay me what I am worth or I go elsewhere!

Generalizations? Sure. Absurdity? Every! Damn! Day! Go do something that will make you smile, just because.

Day 06 of April

Funny!!!

When you look at the political discussion arena, you find a great disparity in how politics is addressed on the left and the right. On the right, you find talk shows -- television/audio outlets -- discussing and analyzing issues. On the left, you find comedy shows with skits and one-liners addressing issues flippantly. The right owns talk shows and the left owns comedy outlets. The question: Why?

If you do not want to give a dismissive answer, you have to observe both platforms and look at the audiences they are addressing. On the right, any position held will be attacked, so such positions must have underlying critical merit or the position will be destroyed inside and outside those within a similar political sphere. On the left, issues cannot be addressed intellectually because they do not tend to hold up to scrutiny -- still pushing socialism with proof of failure abound -- but if you mock your opponent, belittle them with a one-liner, you silence the weak of mind who get to laugh and point across the aisle with you and say, "They are so stupid. We are so smart." But where is the discourse? Where is the pursuit of a better answer?

With the election of Trump, even issues once supposedly held by the left are gone. They used to be for the idea of free speech and opposed to the police state, but now that silencing opponents and a big police state may help the left, they are all in. Was there discourse in a change in fundamental principals? No. The left just started making fun of people that hurt their cause, period. There is no belief, just a desire for victory, power. Power to use in an specific way, to gain freedoms for the citizenry? No, just simple, corruptible power. The left's only principle these days seems to be the acquisition of power in one all-powerful leader. Again, history has shown us well where that leads.

Listen to conservative talk with one who agrees and a one who does not. Dialog, it should be interesting. Watch comedy with one from the right and the left and see if it is funny or shallow? But do not watch with someone you care about if you are a deep thinker, because your view of their intelligence when they laugh gutturally at "Trump is orange!" will cause you to lose respect beyond any ability to simply dismiss them as uninformed.

Always ask yourself what is really going on when someone refuses to discuss an issue, and when someone makes you a punchline for a joke or claims they are hurt by your beliefs, they are really making one simple statement: I cannot and will not address these issues.

Day 05 of April

Intelligence = Jobs Program

All of the intelligence agencies with so little to do, or so much to do that should not be done. Either way, it is another government jobs program.

Being a businessman, you would think the President would want to streamline operations. There is no need for so many alphabet soup intelligence agencies looking for areas to insert themselves and their snoopiness. Consolidate! Streamline! Take all of these agencies and merge them into two or three agencies, then cut the staffs to a manageable level. Fiscal responsibility is a good thing.

Too many of us accept that we have what we have because we believe it must be what we need. Ptooey! Shrink. Consolidate. Though the big government crowd that runs the government -- part of the problem -- would consider this a step backward, it would be a leap forward.

A right sized federal government is MUCH smaller than its current size. Much, much smaller.

Day 28 of March

Law Compliance: Optional

Many cities across the nation have decided that they are not required to follow the law. They do not like certain laws, but instead of working to change them they feel that they are entitled to ignore them. Well, sounds like a plan.

There are definitely laws that you do not agree with and only comply with because of consequences. Should you be allowed to pick and choose which laws apply to you? If you are in a sanctuary city the answer is simple: Absolutely!

Why bother working to change a law when you can flaunt said law without consequence. You want to speed? Speed. You want to sell heroin from your porch? Sell away. Interested in rape? Seek help, because your government suggests the law should not stop you from doing what you think is acceptable. (Really, it is not acceptable. Seek help.) Want to kill your sworn enemy? Generally, we know such things are against the law, but if laws are optional in your community, prepare to defend yourself.

Sure, you do not agree with the immigration laws. Many do not, but there are many laws that most of us do not agree with, yet in this semblance of a civilized society, we agree to follow and work to change. When this agreement is gone, we have given birth to anarchy.

In a sanctuary city, the government is making it clear that laws are optional. There is no better city to be a criminal on trial, for if laws are optional for the government, they are optional for the people. If you are a criminal of any kind and seek sanctuary, there are places for you and a good defense attorney.

Day 03 of February

Intolerant?

If you are only able to tolerate those you agree with you are intolerant. And if, in your intolerance, you need the courage of the crowd to assault those you disagree with, you are a coward.

If you are prone to violence in regards to forcing your political message down the throats of other -- to the surprise of no one, that is the left -- there is no doubt that we can find a fellow human who has a differing view who is willing to battle you one-on-one. No crowd, just you and someone you disagree with who would not dancing with such a delightfully insipid partner.

Day 18 of January

20% is Nice, But 50% is Better!

Trump eyes 10% spending cuts, 20% slash of federal workers

The burden of our bloated, oppressive government weighs upon us all. We will take a 20% cut, because that is the right direction, but a 50% cut sounds more reasonable and responsible.

Slash, and drain that swamp!!!

Day 13 of December

Free Pass! It's the Russians!!!

No longer do you have to take responsibility for that affair, that failed test, the botched job, the foolish statement, the missed bill payment. Never again does it have to be your fault! The only excuse you will ever need: "The Russians did it!"

No evidence? No problem, because everyone knows the Russians are that good and dastardly! Lack of evidence is PROOF the Russians did it. You can't question the plain simple truth that the Russians did it.

Did what?
It. Whatever it is, they did it...they always do.

Offended by this post?

The Russians did it.
