Subject opinion to coercion: whom will you make your inquisitors? Fallible men, governed by bad passions, by private as well as public reasons. And why subject it to coercion? To produce uniformity? But is uniformity of opinion desirable? No more than of face and stature.

- Thomas Jefferson

Memorial Day

Coffin

History has shown us that war has always existed, and always will.

And there have always been those willing to sacrifice themselves for their kingdoms, with or without the support of the peasants they protect.

Today is the day we remember those who have made all of this possible for us, our country. Thank you.

And if you thought there was no Clear Politics with such an austere holiday, think again. The traditional celebration is May 30, but it was changed to the last Monday in May to give us a long weekend. Some are offended by this change, while most relish a three day weekend. As long as we remember and honor, is there Clear Politics? Honor and remember and there is peace.

Again, thank you.
