Subject opinion to coercion: whom will you make your inquisitors? Fallible men, governed by bad passions, by private as well as public reasons. And why subject it to coercion? To produce uniformity? But is uniformity of opinion desirable? No more than of face and stature.

- Thomas Jefferson

Christmas Special

It is the holiday season, and the politicians seem to think what you want for Christmas is the most special gift of all: Them in the Oval Office.

The holiday season should be about giving, about sharing, and for most it is, but somehow, for politicians, the holiday season is about what it is always about, them.

There are few things in life that truly matter, and for at least a couple of weeks a year, it is not the politicians.

Enjoy what matters.
