Subject opinion to coercion: whom will you make your inquisitors? Fallible men, governed by bad passions, by private as well as public reasons. And why subject it to coercion? To produce uniformity? But is uniformity of opinion desirable? No more than of face and stature.

The Best of Clear Politics

It is being claimed that Arizona Republicans have helped to put Ralph Nader on the ballot for this year’s presidential election. Clear Politics it is and a slick move in this game of political chess.

The question one has to ask is why are the Democrats complaining? Republicans are not allowed to help Nader? Such poor victims, if they realized how many Republicans were really Libertarians they would realize they could accomplish the same goal by helping Libertarians.
