The natural progress of things is for government to gain ground and for liberty to yield.

Characteristics

Here at Clear Politics there are a couple of things we do not care about:

1) We do not care that Hillary Clinton is a woman.

2) We do not care that Barack Obama is black.

This bodes well for Barack Obama as he campaigns on his ideas and merit but not so well for Hillary, who believes the fact that she has ovaries should secure the female vote.

A candidate will win based on the whole of their character, as perceived by the public, and their message, not on a physical characteristic. When push comes to shove, it is what makes the synapses fire that garners the votes.

I'm a registered Democrat. I think candidates from both parties are not "perfect" candidates; they all carry a certain amount of baggages. What is obvious is that both parties are blended, and the so-called moderate or centrist democrats and the Reagan and/or Goldwater conservatism no longer exist among the current field of candidates.
