Scary Subject

There has been little said in the media about the over-reaching consequences of Texas state government authorities removing many hundreds of children from their parents because the state was uncomfortable with the Christian belief set they were being raised under. The Texas Supreme Court upheld a lower court's ruling to give the kids back:

In a crushing blow to the state's massive seizure of children from a polygamist sect's ranch, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Thursday that child welfare officials overstepped their authority and the children should go back to their parents.

The is a real issue about government authority and boundaries; where do the candidates stand on these issues? Should the government be able to seize your children and make you fight for their return? Will those who believe in government as the center of the universe seize children who are taught laissez faire capitalism or anarchism? Should socialists and communists have their children taken because of the threat their belief system poses to our freedom?

Alas, how about if none of us talk about it because it is a real issue and we do not want to address something so real. That seems to be the tacit agreement.
