George Bush Just Wants to be Liked

George Bush is doing it again. There is no fundamental conservative core or philosophical basis to the man. He being considered a conservative has destroyed the conservativism because he is just another big government politician. There is no problem he cannot resolve by throwing money at the problem, he seems to think:

The Bush administration has asked Congress to add $275 million next year to the budget of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The White House believes that the added money can help the FDA improve the safety of food and drug imports. [Read]

His concern is the Democratic controlled congress did not ask for enough? (What does he care, it is not his money.)

It would be nice if the money had a real purpose, but he is hoping that by spending money the problem will go away--or at least people will think he cares.

This is a conservative?

Conservatism is dead.
